Goldshield Group Limited (Goldshield) is a marketing-led British Pharmaceutical and Consumer Health company. The company markets its products in more than 50 countries across the globe with primary focus in UK and EU markets. Goldshield has operational base in the UK, USA and India.

Goldshield sells prescription pharmaceuticals, non-prescription medicines, vitamins, minerals and supplements and a wide range of other healthcare products.

Goldshield was delisted in December 2009 a result of a Management Buy Out by Midas Bidco Limited. Prior to this the group was listed on the London Stock Exchange since 1998. Goldshield has grown to its present size with equity funding of only £1.8 million up to 31 March 1998 having commenced trading in 1991.

Goldshield is accredited ‘Investor in People’ and lays significant emphasis on continuous training and development of its employees.

Goldshield’s business is broadly classified into two product groups - Pharmaceuticals and Consumer Health.

Pharmaceuticals

Pharmaceuticals markets products for the treatment or prevention of chronic or recurrent illnesses. Goldshield currently markets products which address indications in focus therapeutic areas of Pain & Anaesthesia, Cardiovascular, and Joint & Musculosceletal. The Company distributes its products through retail pharmacies, hospitals and international country distributor network.

This product group serves with a diversified range of therapeutics through broad categories - Specialty Brands needing strong marketing support and lower maintenance costs, Mature Brands requiring limited selling support and Value Generics requiringhigh selling and operational support

Manufacturing and product development is outsourced to reliable established players.

The growth of pharmaceuticals has resulted principally from the Company’s policy of acquiring the UK and Irish rights to marketed products with growth potential with the intention that these would finance further acquisitions and product development programmes. The acquired products have been supplemented, where appropriate, by product line extensions which have led to cost effective and low risk organic growth.

Consumer Health

Consumer Health covers four of the major healthcare categories: Weight Management, Joints and Mobility, Female Wellbeing and Vanity and Male Wellbeing and Vanity. Its product portfolio consists of vitamins, minerals and supplements, analgesics, skin care, herbal medicines, cough and cold remedies and slimming aids.

Direct grasp of the consumer needs and responding by reaching out with accurate products, have been the operational crux of the consumer health arm. The marketing constitution thus aptly comprises Retail as well as Direct selling routes.

Almost all growth in Consumer Health has been organic. This is largely due to   investment in successful customer service via personal medical support centre and continuous education programs.

Manufacturing and product development is outsourced to reliable established players across Europe, USA and Asia.

The Company believes that the product portfolio growth has been and will continue to be achieved through the Group's focus on its customers, its marketing-led approach and its ability to offer a wide range of products with a common brand identity.
